The Washington LEADS Network is a statewide student recognition and leadership program that celebrates how students lead, engage, take action, demonstrate dedication, and serve others in their schools and communities.

A program of the Washington School Principals' Education Foundation (WSPEF), WA LEADS was created to expand access to leadership recognition and help students identify, reflect on, and grow their leadership potential.

Unlike many recognition programs, WA LEADS is not based on GPA, class rank, leadership titles, or competitive selection processes. Instead, students are recognized for their growth, contributions, impact, and commitment over time.

The program is grounded in a simple belief: Leadership is learned by each and every student.

WA LEADS supports students through a process of reflection, feedback, and recognition aligned with five areas:

Students may participate through either a school membership or an individual membership pathway.

The ultimate goal is not simply recognition. The goal is helping students recognize their own capacity to create positive impact and continue growing as leaders throughout their lives.
